Therm Aid

Therm Aid

The thermal blanket has been developed to protect hypothermic

patients with a core temperature of less than 35°C, for trauma

patients and to prevent patients suffering from shock at the scene

of an accident.

The purpose of the blanket is to give rescue personnel a fast and effective

material for wrapping patients which increases their core temperature and

therefore the chances of survival for hypothermic patients.

As a professional paramedic, Finn Jensen has developed the Thorax

Thermal Blanket TM on the basis of the following requirements:

  • The blanket must be quick-acting and effective.

  • It must be durable.

  • It must be able to remain attached to the patient, even in bad weather conditions.

  • It must be easy to take off and put on again if further treatment is required.

  • It must be more effective at retaining body heat.

  • It must be ready for use.

  • It must be available in different sizes.

  • It must be made of disposable material.

  • It must remain wrapped around the patient if the patient is moved.

  • It must free up extra time for the paramedics to enable them to perform further treatment.
